Purpose: This study analyzes the demand in the global Fast-Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) industry by examining key factors influencing market growth, consumer behaviour, technological innovation, and sustainability. It identifies the opportunities and challenges affecting industry competitiveness and long-term development.
Methodology: The study is based on an extensive literature review and secondary data analysis. Strategic frameworks such as SWOC (Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities, Challenges), ABCD (Advantages, Benefits, Constraints, Disadvantages), and PESTEL (Political, Economic, Social, Technological, Environmental, Legal) are used to evaluate internal and external factors influencing the global FMCG industry from the perspectives of manufacturers, consumers, policymakers, and investors.
Results & Analysis: The findings reveal that product innovation, digital transformation, sustainability, and changing consumer preferences are the major drivers of FMCG demand. The analysis identifies strong distribution networks and brand loyalty as key strengths, while intense competition, supply chain disruptions, rising costs, and regulatory compliance remain major challenges. PESTEL analysis further highlights the influence of political, economic, social, technological, environmental, and legal factors on industry growth.
Originality: This study provides a comprehensive analysis of the global FMCG industry by integrating demand analysis with SWOC, ABCD, and PESTEL frameworks, offering a multidimensional understanding of industry trends and strategic challenges.
Value: The study offers practical recommendations for manufacturers, policymakers, investors, and consumers to promote innovation, sustainability, efficient supply chain management, and informed decision-making, contributing to long-term growth and competitiveness in the global FMCG industry.
