Publication Ethics

The Poornaprajna International Journal of Basic Sciences (PIJBS) is committed to maintaining high standards of publication ethics, academic integrity, originality, transparency, and responsible scholarly communication. The journal expects authors, reviewers, editors, and publishers to follow ethical practices at every stage of manuscript submission, peer review, acceptance, and publication.

Authors must submit only original, unpublished, and plagiarism-free manuscripts that are not under consideration elsewhere. All sources, data, ideas, figures, tables, and previously published materials used in the manuscript must be properly cited. Authors are responsible for the accuracy of data, authenticity of results, correct authorship, ethical approval where required, conflict of interest disclosure, and permission for copyrighted material.

Reviewers must evaluate manuscripts fairly, objectively, confidentially, and within their area of expertise. They should provide constructive comments and must inform the editor if they notice plagiarism, duplicate publication, data manipulation, ethical concerns, or conflicts of interest.

Editors are responsible for ensuring a fair, unbiased, and transparent editorial process. Editorial decisions are based on academic merit, originality, relevance to the journal scope, ethical compliance, reviewer recommendations, and scholarly contribution. Editors must maintain confidentiality and avoid any personal, institutional, financial, or academic bias.

PIJBS strictly discourages plagiarism, self-plagiarism, duplicate submission, data fabrication, falsification, image manipulation, gift authorship, ghost authorship, citation manipulation, and unethical use of artificial intelligence tools. If publication misconduct is identified before or after publication, the journal may take appropriate action, including rejection, correction, withdrawal, expression of concern, or retraction.

The journal is committed to protecting the integrity of the scholarly record and promoting ethical, open-access, and responsible research publication in basic sciences and allied interdisciplinary fields.
